The Photography page has been updated again with two new galleries: the Kal Park Fire, and the Terrace Mountain Fire. More to come eventually!
I’m sorting through pictures of my trip to Athabasca the other weekend, and this might take awhile. I’ve been able to whittle down quite a few duplicates and fuzzy images, however I’ve been playing around with Microsoft ICE again, and it may take a while to get ‘web-ready’ images on the go. Why? Here are some stats:
Panorama #1:
- 10 source images @ ~1MB each
- Microsoft ICE Panorama .png output (scaled to 100%): 26.7MB
- Dimensions: 8797×1786 pixels
Panorama #2:
- 13 source images @ ~1.75MB each
- Microsoft ICE Panorama .png output (scaled to 75%): 85.7MB
- Dimensions: 21330×1875 pixels
Oddly enough, these two panorama’s are of the same location in Jasper National Park, however they’re taken with two different camera settings (#1 using manual settings that I forgot to adjust first, and #2 using fully automatic settings).
Aside from those two image sets, I have a number of others, including my favourite – Mount Robson. Each time I’ve driven through Mount Robson Nation Park, it’s been cloudy, and the one time it wasn’t I only had a VGA camera phone. This trip, however, the weather was perfect.
For the time being, I leave you with a sample (click for a larger view):
- Camera Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi
- F-stop: 7.1
- Exposure time: 1/800 sec.
- ISO Speed: ISO-100
- Focal Length: 25mm
